Design of Passive Magnetic Energy Harvester Clamped on a High-AC Currents-Carrying Conductor for Optimized Rechargeable Battery Interfacing
The article discussed the optimal design of a passive MEH clamped on ac-current-carrying conductor to a rechargeable battery under the maximum allowed charging current constraint. It was revealed that despite relatively wide variation of battery terminal voltage expected to take place during the charging process, the MEH should still be matched to the nominal battery voltage due to the low sensitivity of output MEH power–voltage characteristic around its extremum. Consequently, deviations of battery terminal voltage from its nominal value have rather insignificant effect on the amount of charging power. The proposed design guidelines were accurately supported by experimental results.
